Seems everyone is in holiday mood and writing on 2010 new year resolutions and achievements through 2009.

Year 2009 for me is full with bittersweet memories in terms of family, relationship, friendship and careers. Some problem (or should I call that misunderstanding?) in family, became someone's fiancé, a year where I shrunk 10kgs and also a year where I almost lost my job. But there's always a silver lining behind. I don’t want to write much, let's see some of my favorite photos in 2009.

2009 didn't end up well as it started(except for the economy crisis), but I'm looking forward to 2010. Welcoming 2010, no wish list here, just a simple to do list as a plan for myself.



1: Vacation with friends- April!
2: Getting married at 25! =) Upcoming July, insya allah.
3: Moving to our sweet Casa Prima.
4: Change to a new job role which I can enjoy more.
5: Prepare for the 2011 must do list. Yes, my partner and I always plan a year ahead as we believe everything needs money.



Hope everything goes well. Manusia hanya merancang, Tuhan yang menentukan. Allah always know what's the best for us.

Muslim friends, if you plan for a countdown tonight, don’t forget that malam nie is Malam Jumaat, so baca Yassin dulu ye. =)

FurFLe Notes: During new year's eve last year, I was writing my self-assessment (focal) as my boss wished. I guess tonight I'll end with the same task too.

Entry lambat seminggu. Actually baru dapat gambar dari papa tercinta, lps diforward member2 die.. that's why baru nak update pasal ni. Kisah kebakaran di Jalan Gambir, Kuching.

Sebab kejadian ni kat Sarawak, nak tulis dalam bahasa tanahair tumpah darahku la.. Siapa faham memang hebat!


Sik tauk gilak hal tok, rasanya happen ari selasa last week.Nak sure nya FAH Company ngan kedey gula batu SWEET HEART dah angussss… Terus kamek teringat ngan tempat tok. Kedey SWEETHEART tok lah tempat kamek meli barang2 k berjual rah kantin skolah rendah dengan rega super murah time kecik2 dolok. Pasya untung nya.. Perhh.. Lumayan.


FAH company angus nang sedeyh la rasa.. Ya lah tempat jual kain berkualiti nak murah di Kuching tok. Barang-barang k ngias antaran pon murah juak.. Siney lah lagik tempat urg nak bershopping lak oo? Kamdar?? Outdated gilak kamdar rah kuching ya.. Last year FAH molah lelong segal kain kenak banjir, mun kain angus nak molah gney?

Potong Andam is a ritual which Malay brides undergo before their wedding day to determine their virginity. It is believed that the ritual can make the bride appear more radiant, stabilize her spiritual well-being and protect her from evil disturbances.

This solemn ceremony can only be conducted with the bride’s permission. The ritual is carried out by the Mak Andam, a woman (usually 40 years old and above) who beautifies the bride for the wedding.


The Mak Andam who performs the ritual of Potong Andam or Potong Perajan (as it is known to the Malays in Johor, Malaysia) can tell whether the bride is a virgin (masih dara) or not from the way her hair falls. It is believed that a bride who is no longer a virgin will lose the radiance on her face. Thus, the Mak Andam will try her best to naikkan seri muka (make the radiance appear) through a mixture of prayers and andaman (style of make-up).


The outcome of Potong Andam is only known to the Mak Andam and the bride. Mak Andam must NOT reveal the outcome to anyone (although sometimes the Mak Andam tells the mother of the bride if she is present at the ritual and only if it is necessary to inform her).

Research done by Zainab binti Yahya in Perak, Malaysia reveals the following findings:


a. By cutting strands of hair from the forehead, right and left sides of the head.
If the hair falls in the shape of [ O ], then the bride is a not virgin. If it falls bending to the left [ ))) ], the bride is a virgin. If it falls bending in the direction to the right [ ((( ], she is a virgin and will be happy living with her future husband.

If the hair from the forehead falls straight towards the direction of the bride; if the hair from the right side falls to the left and if the hair from left side falls to the right, it indicates that the bride is a virgin but she will not be happy living with her future husband.


b. By massaging 3 strands of hair from the forehead 3 times with the right hand.
The Mak Andam mutters mantras with every massage (which indirectly ‘straighten’ the hair). She blows the forehead and releases the hair (without cutting).
If the bride is a virgin, the 3 strands of hair will ‘curl’ up to its original position.
If the bride is not a virgin, the 3 strands of hair will remain ‘straight’.

Kalau buat Potong Perajan kat Johor nanti, for sure my Mak Andam nampak I dah tak virgin. Yelah, majlis resepsi kat Johor tu 2 BULAN after akad nikah di Kuching. 2 bulan bebbbb, DUA bulan! Husband mane boleyh tahan..? Haha.

Haagen Dazs Chocolate Fondue

So sinful, yet delicious! I can still feel the ice cream on my taste bud while I'm writing this.

Haagen Dazs, Juru Auto City, Penang.

I've bumped into a few food blogger's site recommending HD Choco Fondue so I've decided to have it while my two sisters are around. This serving is suitable for 2-4 persons, depends on how big your appetite and how much do you love ice cream. ;p Price? It's quite expensive -RM62.90+ but worth it, trust me! I always love Haagen Dazs more than Baskin and Robin.

When the fondue arrived, we're amazed on how big the portion is. 16 balls of ice cream which consist 4 flavors- chocolate, vanilla, strawberry and cookies n cream.. (Oh, always my favorite!) We felt so full as we're just finished eating Mee Udang Sg Dua 30 minutes before the ice cream hunting!




Seriously, a MUST try.

The fondue includes cheese shortcakes, chips more and chocolate love letters to be dipped into a pool of chocolate. Enrich of chocolate. and Calories too.

Eating healthy and on diet? Don’t worry-Bananas, Green Apples and Strawberry for you. But who can resist the yummy tempting ice cream when it's just right in front of your face?

To keep the chocolate pool stay melted, a small candle is placed under the ceramic pot. This chocolate is a-quick harden type, so make sure you dipped it into peanuts before it harden and coated your fork!

Ohh, sooooo heaven! Enjoy your tea time then. =)

3. Melebihkan perbelanjaan dalam keluarga-Diluaskan Allah rezekinya serta beroleh keamanan dan kesihatan.
4. Mengusap kepala anak yatim dan menaruh belas kasihan terhadap mereka- Diangkat oleh Allah darjatnya kesyurga.
5. Sesiapa yang berbuat baik terhadap anak yatim pada hari Asyura, seolah-olah ia telah berbuat baik kepada semua anak yatim.
6. Menziarahi orang alim (banyak ilmu) dan belajar sesuatu ilmu daripadanya-Pahalanya seperti orang Muhajirin dan Ansar.
7. Menziarahi orang sakit - Pahalanya seolah-olah ia telah menziarahi semua orang yang sedang sakit.
8. Bersedekah - Pahalanya sepertiu bersedekah satu tahun kepada zuriat Nabi Adam dan seolah-olah ia tidak pernah menolak permintaan orang yang meminta kepadanya seumur hidup.
9. Sunat bercelak mata - InsyaAllah tidak terkena sakit mata atau matanya dilindungi Allah daripada perkara maksiat.
10. Sunat menginai dan mengerat kuku.
11. Menjamu dan memberi minum kepada orang-Allah akan memberi seteguk air pada hari akhirat dimana dengan seteguk air itu tidak akan haus buat selama-lamanya.

This was a really pending post. I've been really busy with all the kenduri(s) and posting the wedding events that I've attended until I figured out that I missed this part.

We went to Taiping Lake for outdoor model photo shooting as Loctor was in a challenge mode with Ted Adnan to come out with the cheapest diffuser-which I don’t know how to explain it here. Click here for the video.

However, I'm glad to help him to be a 'tikus makmal' for the diffuser as I managed to add a few great photos to my collection too =)

Now, move to learning session. Here are some tips that I manage to digest to my brain storage after the session.


1. Prepare the desire pose for the model to act. Make sure you study the pose that you want to capture so that you can give instructions smoothly during the photography session.


2. Act cool. Even you nervous tengok model, but buat-buat cool and confident so that the models rasa selesa nak pose for your photos.


3. After you snap a photo of your model, SHOW it to them! This tip was taken from the 1st class I joined Loctor's sharing session in Cameron Highland back in October last year. Loctor said this is about respecting the models, and for me it's good to show them so that the models know which part is wrong on their facial expression, and can fix it in the next snap. Models can give her best pose, photographers can have their best shots! Bukankan it’s a win-win situation?
